01

Prepare the EV Fire Blanket for Deployment

Ensure the blanket is appropriately sized for the vehicle. Unroll the blanket completely and position it behind the car or in the intended deployment direction.

Full PPE and SCBA must be worn at all times while handling or deploying any fire blanket exposed to the car. Deployment requires a minimum of two people.

02

Position the Fire Blanket

Grab the handles, raise the blanket high in the air, and briskly walk it over the burning vehicle.

Avoid direct contact with the blanket and the car to minimize the risk of tears from sharp edges during deployment.

03

Cover the Vehicle

Center the blanket over the vehicle using the marking points on the blanket.

Ensure the blanket touches the ground on all sides, stepping down gently on any areas where air might flow from under the blanket.

Some air will always be entrained.

04

Secure the Blanket

Use the strap to wrap the base of the blanket tightly around the vehicle.

This step helps cut off oxygen and prevents the blanket from blowing off in high winds.

Additional tools or weights can be used to further secure the blanket if needed.

05

Monitor the Situation

Once deployed, monitor the fire using a thermal imaging camera.

Best practice is to spray the outside of the blanket with water. If possible, deploy an EV nozzle under the car to assist with cooling.

The fire will continue to burn under the blanket, but the blanket aids in containment and reduces exposure risk. By limiting oxygen, the fire will cool but will not fully extinguish until the battery has completely burned out.

Always follow department SOPs and consult NFPA and other relevant guidelines for handling EV fires.

Protect Every High-Risk Location

Every minute matters when an EV fire strikes. Strategic deployment of EV Fire Blankets transforms vulnerable areas into protected zones.

Parking Structures

Transform every level of your parking facility into a fire-safe zone. Quick access to our blankets prevents fire spread in densely packed areas, protecting multiple vehicles and maintaining structural integrity.

Maritime Transport

Ensure passenger safety and vessel protection on car ferries. Strategic placement on car decks provides immediate response capability, preventing fire spread in critical maritime environments where evacuation options are limited.

Fueling & Charging Hubs

Protect your investment at both traditional gas stations and EV charging locations. Our blankets offer dual-threat protection: containing gasoline fires and managing complex lithium battery incidents—making them essential safety equipment for modern fueling stations.

Auto Service Centers

Safeguard your repair facility where damaged vehicles pose elevated fire risks. Keep blankets readily available in workshops, paint shops, and service bays to protect expensive equipment and maintain business continuity.

Recovery Operations

Equip every tow truck and recovery vehicle with essential fire protection. When transporting damaged or compromised vehicles, immediate access to suppression equipment can prevent catastrophic escalation.

Underground Infrastructure

Protect critical tunnel infrastructure and save lives with strategic blanket placement. In confined spaces where smoke and toxic gases pose extreme dangers, rapid fire isolation becomes essential for occupant survival.

Aviation Facilities

Secure high-traffic areas where vehicles, luggage carriers, and ground support equipment operate. Protect valuable aviation assets and ensure continuous operations by positioning blankets at terminal entrances and throughout operational zones.

Zero Compromise

First Responders' Choice: The Critical Truth About Single-Use EV Blankets

While multi-use options might seem cost-effective initially, they come with serious risks.

Real-World Consequences: A Critical Warning

In a sobering incident in Victoria, two firefighters suffered permanent disability from cobalt poisoning after responding to an EV fire. This tragic event serves as a stark reminder of why proper safety protocols and single-use equipment are non-negotiable in EV fire response.

Permanent Damage

Direct flame contact permanently alters the blanket's protective coating. Once exposed to extreme EV fire temperatures, the blanket's effectiveness is irreversibly changed.

Toxic Contamination

After exposure to an EV fire, blankets become contaminated with hazardous materials including toxic metals. Each use leaves behind dangerous residues that can't be safely removed in the field.

Unverifiable Safety

There's no reliable way to verify a used blanket's effectiveness in the field. Without laboratory testing, it's impossible to know if a used blanket will provide adequate protection in the next emergency.
